I’ve been a Brown’s fan for as long as I can remember, 60-plus years. Frank Ryan, Gary Collins, Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly were my idols in early childhood. When the Browns left town, I was heartbroken. I was a fan for life, hopeful every season, deeper than just football.
Today, I am troubled as to the moral fabric of the leadership of the Browns organization and heartbroken again, as I feel I must leave this team behind. I just cannot support the signing of Deshaun Watson -- not just for the ridiculous amount of money, but more importantly, for the allegations of sexual abuse toward so many women. I’ve heard the justification that two grand juries didn’t indict him criminally, but.
For a woman to come forward takes great courage, as they know they will be accused, demeaned and their very integrity as a human being called into question. I just cannot look the other way.
