I couldn't believe how similar they were
For me, there's nothing more luxurious than one of these chocolates, I'd even go as far to say that they are definitely one of my favourites. Once I've had one of these truffles, I find it hard to stop eating them.
We all know how good Aldi is for dupes, and as soon as I saw that the retailer was offering its own Moser Roth truffles for £2.69, I knew I had to give them a go. I'm always a little dubious when it comes to food dupes, so really wanted to see if the Aldi version was the same in terms of taste. I personally think the Lindor version looks slightly 'posher' but that could be because of the red colouring as opposed to the blue. The boxes of truffles are virtually the same in terms of shape and size, with few minor design differences like the font.
The taste and texture I had my eyes closed and tasted both chocolates and I was very surprised at the results. The two chocolates tasted virtually the same, apart from a few very small differences. The Aldi chocolate had the crunch of the thick outer layer of chocolate just like the Lindt version, to reveal the heavenly gooey centre. I could definitely tell which one was the Aldi dupe, but it still tasted absolutely incredible.
