Stephanie Thomson says she feels robbed of a chance at life after medics at the Beatson Oncology Centre told her she is not eligible for any clinical trials.
A Paisley mum who is battling a rare form of cancer says she has been handed a “death sentence” after being refused access to medical trials. Stephanie Thomson has been told that she will not be put forward for potentially life-saving trials because her cancer is too rare.
Despite being cleared of cancer in October 2023, doctors told her seven weeks later that it had returned to her lungs, lymph nodes and chest cavity. It has since also spread to her brain, despite undergoing chemotherapy. The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.
“My son deserves a mother and I deserve more than ticking a few boxes to decide whether I get that chance to live or try known treatments! She now wants her fellow Buddies and people all over the UK to use their influence to call on their elected representatives to increase funding for research into rare cancers.
