Our reviewer was far from impressed
I’d ordered the 'Mega English Breakfast' from Rollette Café in Meanwood Road as it seemed to be on the top of a lot people’s lists for a nice greasy fry-up. With a 4.4 star rating and more than 300 Google reviews, I thought I was in safe hands.
The eggs on the other hand had been cooked to a decent standard, the yolk flowed when you pierced it with a knife. The hash browns appeared store bought, I could tell by the recognisable shape. These tasted reasonably adequate but there wasn’t anything particularly special about them. The serving of beans was generous – enough to layer on a couple slices of toast. They’d been flush with the toast, I was given three whole slices all buttered. It had all been packaged quite well, the toast separate from the other food so it had remained nice and crispy.
