'I think I'll be back soon': President Trump delivers video address from Walter Reed Medical Center
President Trump released a videotaped statement Saturday from his hospital suite at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, assuring the nation that he was feeling better since being admitted the day before, and that he believed he would return to campaign trail “soon.”
“I’ll be back. I think I’ll be back soon. And I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way it was started. And the way we’ve been doing, the kind of numbers we’ve been doing, we’ve been so proud of it. But this was something that happened, and it’s happened to millions of people all over the world,” he said.
Story continuesOn Friday, Trump’s condition declined and he was given oxygen while at the White House, multiple outlets reported. His doctors decided to move the president to Walter Reed late that afternoon. Since being admitted, the president has been given two different experimental drug treatments, a five-day course of Remdesivir and an antibody treatment made by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., both of which have shown signs in trials of slowing the disease’s progress.
