She went from watching marathons on TV to planning for her first 26.2. 💪
. I think I’m also going to be able to do even more. I’m getting married this year, working full-time, and am also a graduate student. Racing is on hold for at least the rest of the year, but I’m maintaining my progress and hope to one day do a marathon just like all of the people I saw doing them on TV, and I’d do it for myself.
My hope is that it could inspire other people to run that otherwise wouldn’t have just like I was inspired a few years ago. Running has become a way for me to relax and focus on the things that I can control. I have become more confident in the way that I run and how I approach racing. To anyone who wants to go on a similar path, my advice is to stay true to yourself and love the body that you are in at every stage. Be proud of the small victories and stay consistent. Don’t beat yourself up if you mess up. Come up with a plan, and work on moving forward.
