In 2021, I penned a widely syndicated article entitled “Trump isn’t going anywhere (except back to the White House).”
Now, two years later, despite a lingering legion of irrational, unhinged Trump detractors, I continue to argue that Donald J. Trump was the most effective champion of conservative values of any president in my lifetime. That’s why I, and my PAC, the anti-Biden Committee to Defeat the President, are boldly and passionately endorsing Mr. Trump for reelection in 2024.
Yet, as opposed to every other president over the last 40 years, Mr. Trump will not be remembered as a wartime president but rather as one who protected peace around the world, including the Middle East. He was the first Commander-in-Chief since Jimmy Carter not to enter American troops into a new conflict, a legacy now overshadowed by Mr. Biden’s $113 billion investment in the Ukraine war.
Finally, and most importantly, no president since Ronald Reagan has done more to protect the promise of our Declaration of Independence and restore our founding principles than Trump, with the help of then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Mr. Trump successfully and unapologetically appointed strict constitutionalist judges to federal appellate courts and the Supreme Court, and those appointees will undoubtedly represent Trump’s greatest legacy of freedom.
