A monthlong program to encourage kindness is kicking off this weekend in Arlington.
The city’s Kindness Project will offer yoga and art classes, sound baths, blood drives and meditation practices.The Kindness Project kickoffPick up a Kindness Kit, which includes a copy offrom Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. Kits are first come, first served due to limited supplies.6 p.m. Monday, March 28, George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S. Center St.
An instructor will guide participants through a sound bath and meditation, which will include the sound of gongs, Tibetan bowls and crystal bowls. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and bring items with you to create a comfortable meditation, such as yoga mats, water, knee bolsters and blankets.George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S. Center St.will discuss the importance of self-care and taking time to listen to your inner voice of reason.
Learn how small changes to your habits, home and yard can make a big impact on your resource use and the environment. Topics will include efficient choices for North Texas yards and how to use less water and energy.
