Inabo is the brainchild of Swedes Ludvig Lindberg and Sofia Jansson , who, like most of their compatriots, spend a lot of time inside during Stockholm’s cold, dark winters. The duo also abides by the Swedish tradition of removing shoes when entering a home. “The idea of making indoor shoes was born out of the simple lack of alternatives,” the pair explain. “Because although the no-outdoor-shoes-inside tradition is very strong, there is strangely no real tradition of wearing indoor shoes.
Slow fashion is not a passing fancy for Lindberg and Jansson. Rather than present on a seasonal schedule, they maintain a permanent collection to which new iterations are added. In fact, beyond design and commerce, their motivation is to encourage people to stay in more. “People are more connected than ever these days, but also more stressed out and at the same time lonelier than ever.
