Inside a women-only poker night at the New York Stock Exchange: 'If it's worth betting, it's worth raising'

Instructors from Poker Power guided us throughout the evening. The first lesson was learning when to fold. But when we did have a good hand, we were encouraged to up the ante.At the beginning, we were all quite timid. High-powered executives tentatively pushed their chips into the center and asked instructors after each round if they made the right call.
But soon enough, the game got lively, with well-heeled women cheering each other on and making big bets. It was a spirited celebration for the bank, which went public at the New York Stock Exchange in 1792. "With a new CEO, we wanted to do something different and show people how unique BNY Mellon is," said the bank's marketing and communications head, Natalie Sunderland, referring toI approached Jayee Koffey, who leads enterprise priorities and corporate affairs at the bank, but she could only talk for a few minutes before getting pulled back to her table."She's on a hot streak," her tablemate exclaimed.
