James Debayo has spoken to LeedsLive in Germany during Leeds United's pre-season training camp as he tries to make an impression on Daniel Farke
Backed by his parents and siblings in his football career since day one, it was especially fitting they surrounded James Debayo when his life changed this summer. The 19-year-old was enjoying the end-of-season break with his family when his phone received an unexpected message from Daniel Farke .

The former Watford trainee has been warmly welcomed into the fold by his senior colleagues, which was illustrated perfectly during this interview by Ethan Ampadu.
He added: “I've taken to it quite well. All the boys have been so good with me. They've just been giving me advice and helping me out.” “I’m not naturally left-footed, but playing with great players, they just make it easier for me and they take me through it step by step,” he said. “I quite enjoyed it.”
With more than five weeks of the window remaining, a lot can still change, but Debayo is doing everything to show Farke he can be a trusted component in that defence. Archie Gray, eight months Debayo’s junior, has reminded the entire academy of the pathway that still exists under the German boss.
