ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar is currently receiving medical care after he became unwell live on-air, the TV channel says.
Eagle-eyed viewers even noticed that he appeared to be struggling to read the news bulletins – sparking concern online with many flocking to social media to express their worries.Rageh was born in Mogadishu, the largest city in Somalia, and moved to the UK when he was just two-years-old. During his time in education, he studied at the Dragon School, Oxford, and Cheltenham College in Gloucestershire.
During the conflict his reports were syndicated across the United States by ABC News and he became a recognisable face world wide. Rageh has also made numerous documentaries including the BBC’s landmark series “The Life of Muhammad”. He has written two books; 'Revolution Day' on the invasion of Iraq and 'Only Half of Me', on growing up as a British Muslim.
