What a transformation!
An old Barclays bank in the historic market town of Knutsford has been given a stunning transformation to become a new Mowgli restaurant from celebrity chef Nisha Katona. The building, on King Street, has been transformed with thousands of twinkling fairy lights, lanterns and Mowgli's signature swing seats.
Chef Nisha said of the transformation: "Knutsford is one of my home towns, so this restaurant had to be a home from home." "There was an ATM machine in the front and the windows were all boarded up, but now the arched windows look absolutely beautiful. Sometimes when you take on a building you never know what you’re going to get, but for us the arched windows by a happy coincidence matched the arched mirrors we had planned."
Mowgli's signature swing seats can be booked all through the restaurant - and line the window seats. Lori says: "We started out with two seater swing tables, but families were missing out so we now have swing tables for four too. They are surprisingly comfy to sit in!" The new venue becomes the 22nd restaurant in Nisha's growing Mowgli business, which first opened in Liverpool in 2014, and was swiftly followed by Manchester in 2015. Former lawyer Nisha established the restaurant as she was inspired to share Indian home kitchen food with dishes full of fresh, bright, intense flavour.
