A crumbling house that was destroyed when a 'mini tornado' ripped through a Greater Manchester town last year is now set to go up for auction. The end-terrace property in Stalybridge in Tameside was amongst those that were severely damaged during Storm Gerrit in December 2023.
This three-bed home, which is set to go under the hammer this week, was one of them - and it now needs a full renovation to bring it back to life. Pictures show the family home has been left in a derelict state since the extreme weather event.As well as the obvious damage to the outside, inside there are several broken ceilings and walls, as well as debris and glass that shattered from the windows. However some rooms, such as the kitchen and bathroom appear to have remained intact.
Auctioneer Pugh Auctions says: "This large three bedroom end terrace property has suffered a significant amount of storm damage and now requires a comprehensive scheme of refurbishment and repair. If you can look past its current state, the property does have potential to be made into a lovely family home once again. On the ground floor, it has an entrance hall, kitchen dining area and a living room, whilst upstairs there are three bedrooms, a home office and a family bathroom.
