Rhys McClenaghan is targeting gold in the Pommel Horse at the Paris Olympics
Rhys McClenaghan has scaled the heights during his gymnastics career and the Northern Ireland man is targeting another gold at the Paris Olympics .He posted the joint top score in last week's qualifying round, level with American Stephen Nedoroscik and just above reigning champion Max Whitlock of Team GB.
Where does McClenaghan train? McClenaghan previously trained at Rathgael Gymnastics Club in Bangor but had to leave when his coach was made redundant. He then had to train in his own back yard before moving to Dublin. Now he trains out of the Origin Gymnastics facility right on his own doorstep in Newtownards.
Previous Olympics McClenaghan competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he came in seventh place in the men's pommel horse final.
