The Pittsburgh Steelers have hit another bottom with their offensive coordinator.
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase has made it known they're over offensive coordinator Matt Canada. Since the beginning of the season, the crows has chanted for him to be fired, started petitions to push the team to follow through, and have not held back on social media, radio call in, andBut the Steelers have held strong. Through thick and thin, the team has shared their support for Canada and their optimism in his ability to turn things around.
But what about now? Kenny Pickett, a quarterback the Steelers have invested a first-round pick in just a year ago, who they named captain this season, and who they believe is the future of the franchise, has gone done with an injury. After the game, Tomlin said,"hell yeah," the Steelers are going to make changes, but what they are remains unknown. Is Canada finally one of them?
Does Pickett's injury begin a conversation, though? The Steelers clearly should not have run a passing play out of shotgun on a 4th and short. It was clear as day in the moment that Harris and Warren were running the best they've been all game, and Pickett was struggling - and has been struggling - to find a groove. Down in the third quarter, the last thing you're looking to do is put the ball in the hands of your worst players, but Canada chose to do so anyway.
