The head of the UN has said the number of civilians killed in Gaza shows there is something 'clearly wrong' with Israel's military operations. Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces says it has secured a key Hamas stronghold after a 10-hour battle.
We're once again joined by former UK ambassador to Lebanon, Tom Fletcher. He is asked if Israel could win a war on two fronts if Hezbollah decided to join the conflict. 'I think it would be devastating for Israel ,' he says.'It would be devastating for the region, devastating for Lebanon, the country in which I served.
''The Lebanese people don't want that and I don't think the Israeli people want that,' he goes on. He says the focus has to be on getting the hostages out of Gaza, which would take some of the political pressure off key decision makers and potentially deescalate tensions. 'Everyone I know who's involved... thinks that it's the politics that will get the results and not the military operation.
