“They directly shot at healthcare professionals treating patients. They shot at an ambulance of MDA killing the technician that was in the ambulance,” he said.“They went into the infirmary of Kibbutz Be’eri and shot two of our people who were treating patients,” he said. “The paramedic on scene was found with a gunshot to the head, wearing MDA gloves with the blood of the victims on the gloves.

In the first days of the conflict, MDA were responding to around 200 terror-linked incidents per day. “This week, one of our supervisors comes to me and says, Chaim, I’ve just done the most horrific thing I ever had to do,” he said. The militants operate out of the Gaza Strip, a tiny strip of land home to some two million Palestinians, which they have ruled since 2006 despite being regarded by many countries as a terrorist group.
