It's Chelsea Flower Show's smallest ever garden by DredieMann
This time, the organisation will present The Green Gap garden, a show garden of unprecedented diminutive proportions, shedding light on the dearth of green spaces available to the most disadvantaged households in one of the UK’s wealthiest yet most unequal boroughs.
To unmask the truth behind this disparity, the organisation has joined forces with urban design and planning practice, Prior + Partners. The data further unveils the multifaceted challenges faced by Notting Dale residents, who find themselves among the most deprived in the country, with over 80 per cent of the population enduring the most impoverished conditions in England.
Grow to Know, through its compelling display at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, aims to bring attention to this social injustice, igniting conversations, and fostering a collective determination to address the profound inequalities in access to green spaces. Speaking on the research, Jason Prior, Founding Director at Prior + Partners has said: “We are pleased to have been able to support Grow to Know in this great initiative. Our team used open source, publicly available data to provide an evidence base and to help illustrate the issues that the ‘Green Dive’ represents.
