Crowds line the streets near Leeds Building Society as King Charles makes final stop
King Charles is now visiting representatives from the city’s financial sector at Leeds Building Society, his final stop in Leeds.Rachel King was in the crowd with her son when King Charles arrived. She said: “It was exciting when he got out, really nice to see him in person. It was a historic moment, especially for the little one.
“Everyone wanted to capture it on their phones - there was a lot of very happy people who got to shake his hand at the front. Lots of cheering and we’re expecting some more ‘God saves the Kings’ when he comes out. “It’s exciting for Leeds, especially since he took the throne. It will be nice to see him once he’s coronated if he comes back again, hopefully I can bring my [eldest] with me as it’s at school at the moment.”Applause and shouts of ‘God save the King’ burst out again as King Charles left Leeds Central Library.
He will now end his day in Leeds at Leeds Building Society HQ, meeting representatives from the financial sector.
