I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
While Spider-Man 2 has just been released as of today, there are already questions about what comes next. Without getting into specifics, there are probably 3-4 different teases for where the series could be heading next, and yes, all of them point to a Spider-Man 3, potentially, or some sort of Miles-like sub-game. But what if that Miles-like game was…Venom-like?
I would be amazed if “listening to fans” did not in fact include “we want a Venom game,” and while this sounds like a “oh we’ll see what they want” shrug, I have to believe this has been the plan from the start. You don’t really form these things out of thin air, as you already have eyes onto your next thing when a project like this wraps.

Venom is playable. Yes, I was as shocked as anyone when this happened, as I genuinely was not expecting that to happen. No, you aren’t swinging around the city as Venom, but there’s an entire campaign mission where you are rampaging through Oscorp, actively murdering employees include the famous Venom head-bite.
