It was another emotional episode as Zak Dingle’s final request was read to his family
In Wednesday night’s instalment of the ITV soap, Zak’s last request was read to his family in a heartbreaking letter. Steve Halliwell, who played the Dingle patriarch for almost two decades, died in December last year at the age of 77. Earlier this week, it was announced that his beloved portrayal of character Zak passed away.
As Cain continued to read the letter, he said: "Where I was happiest, and then this is in capitals, not next to Shadrach." The family all laugh knowingly. Cain declared: "I want us all ready by midday tomorrow, then we can bury dad the way he wanted, the way he lived." Before he proposes a toast to the Dingles and added: "We are going to raise merry hell."
