Jadon Sancho 's Manchester United career could be nearing its end as speculation mounts that he could join rivals Chelsea – with Raheem Sterling potentially heading in the opposite direction.
Reports suggest that Ten Hag was worried about Sancho's form and, following his exclusion from England's 2022 World Cup squad, the winger was sent to train in the Netherlands while his team-mates enjoyed a training camp in Spain. During this period, Ten Hag stated that Sancho needed to address "a combination of physical but also mental" issues, reports the Mirror.
Sancho did remove his contentious post but stopped short of issuing an apology to Ten Hag. On September 14, United issued a statement confirming that Sancho would "remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue". Sancho's return to Dortmund was a resounding success, with the winger rediscovering his form and helping the German side climb the Bundesliga table. "When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'," Sancho said after re-joining the German giants.
Back in favour As recently as July, Ten Hag appeared to suggest that Sancho's career at United was not over. Reports emerged stating the player had resolved issues with Ten Hag and was poised for a reintroduction into the United squad.
