James Cameron's unmade Spider-Man movie concept art shows the Web-Slingers suit.
Concept art has been revealed for James Cameron's unmade Spider-Man live-action movie that got scrapped in the 1990s. One of the iconic Marvel heroes to be reimagined for the big screen several times is Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man. From Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, to Tom Holland, the web-slinger has had his fair share cinematically. It even got to the point where the three live-action versions of Spider-Man got to come together in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Even though Cameron's Spider-Man movie was never produced, concept art has emerged from the canceled Marvel picture. As revealed in Tech Noir - The Art of James Cameron two pieces of concept art have surfaced on Twitter. The artwork gave a closer look at what Cameron's Spider-Man suit could have looked like in the film.
However, unlike the other Spider-Man franchises, Cameron's take was going for a more adult tone. From various uses of profanity to "edgier" dialogue, the scripts have, over the years, received a mixed reception. While some thought a gritter Spider-Man movie would have worked, others believed it would be outdated pretty quickly. Ultimately, legal battles were one of the major factors in why Cameron's Spider-Man movie never went beyond the script stage.
What's Next For Spider-Man In Live-Action With the completion of Holland's Spider-Man trilogy in 2021, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios intend to continue Peter's story in the MCU. The two studios are developing Spider-Man 4 with the intention of getting Holland back as the web crawler under a new contract. One of the ideas that Kevin Feige has confirmed is being eyed for future Phases is Spider-Man and Daredevil leading the street-level heroes of the MCU.
