Who will play The Flash in the DCU?
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn reacts to the latest comments from Arrowverse actor Tom Cavanagh about wanting to return as Reverse-Flash in the DC Universe. As the DCEU movie timeline ended its run, so did The Flash season 9, bringing an end to the Earth-Prime series in the Arrowverse. In about two months from now, it will have been exactly a year since The Flash series finale aired on The CW.
It didn't take long for the online world to try and get Gunn's thoughts on Cavanagh's statement, as afparker642 managed to get him to react to the news. While his answer was short, Gunn reacted with a laughing emoji, clearly being amused by the original video. This comes after Grant Gustin responded that he would be open to coming back as The Flash if it was with Gunn.
It's possible the new DC Universe will feature the Scarlet Speedster sooner rather than later, but as a supporting player in other movies and TV shows, before getting his solo project. Another factor that may play a role is that DC Studios may still be deciding if the franchise is going to focus on Barry again, or whether its story may perhaps shift The Flash mantle to other heroes from the lore, like Wally West.
