Trabzonspor have reportedly made their move to team him up with Barisic and Lundstram
Trabzonspor have made a 'formal proposal' for James Tavernier - having already landed Borna Barisic and John Lundstram this summer.
The Rangers captain has been linked heavily with an exit this summer as Philippe Clement looks to clear the decks and regenerate his team with a clear focus on youth. The strongest interest in Tavernier came from Saudi Arabia with Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq thought to be keen on making him a moneyspinning offer.
Now though it's reported that Trabzonspor want to make their third signing from Rangers this summer. Having already landed Lundstram and Barisic on free transfers, Fabrizio Romano reports they have made a 'formal proposal' to the Ibrox club over captain Tavernier - who has two years left to run on his Ibrox contract. It comes after Clement admitted every one of his players have their price.
Back in 2016 Tavernier rejected a move to the Turkish club but since then he has established himself as an attacking force on the right-hand-side of the defence and scored 24 times last season. It remains to be seen whether Rangers will accept the first transfer offer that is on the table.
