Liverpool's JamieWebster94 made his Glastonbury debut calling it the 'best place in the world'
The singer-songwriter joined the huge line-up this year, alongside another Liverpool icon - Paul McCartney, plus Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and many more. Speaking before the festival, the 28-year-old said getting asked to play by musician Billy Bragg, who has co-curated the activist stage, was a “bucket list” moment.
At Jamie’s set, groups of people from across Liverpool were rubbing shoulders with people from all around the country; who were all mesmerised by the man with a guitar, leading a sing-a-long with the masses. Crowds flooded out from the red tent and gathered outside, with his fans clearly outnumbering the under cover capacity.
When Jamie did take to the stage he came out to Praise You by Fatboy Slim and set the tone for an energetic set. The first time he took to the mic he said: “Glastonbury what the f*** is happening” and went straight into his song Living for Yesterday.Fans don’t just love Jamie for his music but for what he stands for, having previously gone viral for his criticising of ticket resale sites.
Given his track record, and the fact he was playing arguably his most iconic gig yet, it was only right that Jamie shared more of his stances with the Glastonbury crowds. He spoke about “lying politicians” , the fake “influencer types” and reality TV shows such as Love Island. He also didn’t hold back complimenting the rowdy crowd and his devoted fans who.
