Christopher Corne testified that he didn't see anything in Casey Goodson's hands in the moments before Goodson was shot and killed. -- The defense rested its case in the Jason Meade murder trial Tuesday, clearing the way for the prosecution's last-minute surprise witness to testify.
Judge David Young said Corne came forward after watching recent news coverage of the trial. Young added that Corne posted about the case on Facebook before deleting it and deleting his social media pages. The judge then told the jurors it is up to them to determine how credible of a witness Corne is.
"I had a last-minute decision and just felt like it was the right thing to do," he said. "I felt like somebody needed to hear what I saw and had to say."
