The disappearance of Jay Slater prompted This Morning presenter Ben Shepherd to reveal that his son, who is the same age, is also currently travelling abroad.
The following morning, at around 8.50am, Jay called Lucy to say he had missed the bus back and was going to walk 11 hours to their apartment. His phone battery had one per cent and Jay told Lucy he "needed a drink". He hasn't been seen since. "I've got a son who's travelling at the moment who's 19, same age as Jay," Ben said. "We're constantly checking in 'make sure you stay with your phone, don't wander off, don't get lost'.Nick Ferrari, who joined the presenters on This Morning, said he hopes there is a "better outcome" in Jay's case than in the recent disappearance of TV doctor Michael Mosley who was found dead on the Greek island of Symi after going missing.
