Aerial images have revealed the extensive new decking area at Jeremy Clarkson's £1 million pub in the Cotswolds - as the former Top Gear host says it will open next weekend . The 64-year-old acquired The Windmill and five acres of rural land near Burford in Oxfordshire.
Today, on A-level results day, Clarkson tweeted: "Don’t worry if your A level results aren’t what you were hoping for. I got a C and two Us, and here I am, 46 years later, with my own pub. It opens next weekend if you fancy dropping in.” Clarkson has voiced his intention to remove "noisy TVs", promote traditional pub games, serve exclusively British food, and offer a free pint of Hawkstone to farmers. Initially, the pub's opening was scheduled for later in the year to allow for refurbishments and a pre-booked wedding.
Locals from Asthall are cautiously optimistic about Jeremy Clarkson's new endeavour in the area. Tom Walker, a 51-year-old local farmer, believes Clarkson's venture will benefit the farming community by using local produce, stating, "He's already spoken to some of the farmers and talked about using their produce," and acknowledging, "I think he does a lot of good for farming.
