Pegula clarified her actions following a fourth-round loss to Madison Keys on Monday.
American tennis pro Jessica Pegula confronted a journalist whose podcast tweeted she was crying after her fourth-round loss to fellow American, Madison Keys at the 2023. U.S. Open.“Okay, someone said I walked off the court in tears,” Pegula said. “I most definitely was not crying. I’m pretty sure that was from you guys. I don’t know if you tweeted it exactly.
Following the post-match press conference, “The Tennis Podcast” — which is hosted by tennis commentator David Law, Catherine Whitaker and Matt Roberts — issued a clarification on Twitter. “Jessica Pegula clarified to us just now that she was not crying as she left the court,” Law posted on the podcast’s Twitter account.
