Record Sport revealed the 46-year-old Elfsborg boss is on the Pittodrie shortlist.
Jimmy Thelin revealed he's still to be contacted by Aberdeen despite being on their next manager shortlist.
Record Sport revealed the Swedish boss of Elfsborg is one of the names in the frame to succeed Neil Warnock after his shock Pittodrie departure last week. The Dons have endured a nightmare campaign and Dave Cormack is under pressure to get the next appointment right. Swedish boss Thelin has been at Elfsborg for six years and only signed a new two-and-a-half year deal in January. Thelin came close to leading Elfsborg to the Allsvenskan title last season but they blew it on the last day against Malmo.
The 46-year-old has been on the Dons’ radar for more than a year. The Swede is one of the names being considered and ahead of a pre-season friendly on Friday - against the Dons' Europa League conquerors BK Hacken - Thelin insisted he had no contact from anyone in Aberdeen. Thelin said: "I haven't heard anything about it. Those responsible for the stories must be from Scotland." Thelin has been linked with moves to clubs in England this season with Sunderland, Swansea City and Plymouth Argyle all linked with a move for him.
