A monochrome suit looks best without frills
No matter how many TikTok-ified trends come and go, one style rule will always be true: an all-black ensemble is a failsafe outfit. And despite being one of those A-listers that can get away with wearing a bin bag, Joe Alwyn fell back on the combo at this year’s Academy Museum Gala. Set against a ruby-red backdrop, the 33-year-old stepped out in a noire Ferragamo suit, which admittedly, is hardly ground-breaking at a black-tie affair.
And so, he walks the carpet wearing a black blazer, trousers, dress shoes, and a pair of sunnies as the look’s only embellishment. And boy does he look good.Suits-sans-shirts are by no means a new styling trick, but it’s often paired with a few other accessories to not be the sole focus. At last year’s award shows, glitzy add-ons ruled the red carpet – a far cry from Alwyn’s minimalist look.
