President Joe Biden's son Hunter has been charged with federal tax and weapons offences.
The Justice Department said Hunter Biden had struck a deal to resolve the charges and will plead guilty to some offences.
It also avoids a trial that would have led to days or weeks of distracting headlines for the White House. He told NBC News:"Hunter will take responsibility for two instances of misdemeanour failure to file tax payments when due pursuant to a plea agreement.
