A petition calling on former Vice President Joe Biden and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee to back a policy of"universal basic income" amid the pandemic has picked up more than a quarter of a million signatures.
The petition has also asked the Democratic National Committee to endorse the policy until Americans are able to return to work. It is a great privilege for employees to risk their health and well-being. That’s why, should any of our workers fall ill on the job, we’ll be deducting their entire paycheck.” At press time, Amazon announced they had opted to make their generous “hero tax” permanent.
