I'm ready!
. The novel and the series both follow the events at a women’s reproductive clinic after a gunman bursts in and opens fire, taking everyone inside hostage. Shortly after, Hugh McElroy, a police hostage negotiator, is called to the scene to start communications with the gunman.
Joey will portray Wren, McElroy’s teenage daughter, who happens to be inside the clinic when the attack takes place. McElroy only finds out Wren is actually a hostage herself after arriving at the scene, when he gets a text from her. According to Deadline’s report, in her tension-soaked journey, Wren will be joined by “a nurse, a wounded woman, a doctor, a pro-life protester tuned patient, a young woman who has come to terminate her pregnancy, as well as the disturbed gunman himself, vowing to be heard.”
