NPR has reimagined its popular Tiny Desk concert series as the coronavirus continues to spread, but Legend was up for the quarantined challenge, transforming a room in his house into the perfect space for his band, complete with a piano, a full instrumental set-up and stools for his back-up singers., including"Ooh Laa,""Wild,""Conversations in the Dark" and the title track.
"I wrote all these songs before the pandemic, before we saw folks marching in the streets, mourning the life of George Floyd, expressing their outrage," Legend explained."And all these songs were written at a bit of a different time in the world and in the United States, but some of these songs feel even more appropriate now, like we need them more now than we did even when I wrote them.
