The latest on a curious swap deal that could see Celtic bank a seven-figure profie
Sheffield United have reportedly ramped up their interest in Celtic winger Mikey Johnston - and it could even see the Hoops turn a PROFIT in their approach for Auston Trusty.
It's said that United are poised to emerge as serious rivals and there's now a battle over Johnston that could drive his price up. Earlier this summer it was reported they wanted £6m for his services and it looks unlikely they'll go any lower than that, with Johnston still under contract until 2026 and being involved in Brendan Rodgers' squads so far.
They paid £5m to sign him from Arsenal a year ago but have since tumbled out of the Premier League. Trusty spent much of last season as a starter, but has lost his place this term and been on the bench for their opening two Championship games. And while no price has been mooted, it seems logical that any offer in line with their initial investment is likely to be considered.
Elsewhere, Mateusz Bogusz fits the Celtic type of transfer model and his signature makes sense to pundit Craig Moore with Matt O'Riley on the verge of an exit. The Hoops are set to bank a record breaking fee for the midfielder as he gets ready for a move to the EPL with Brighton. Rodgers is ready to invest and the LAFC star looks likely to arrive in Glasgow.
