There's absolutely no character in comics that Red Hood hates more than the Joker, which is why it's so surprising Joker promises to save Red Hood.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! Contains Spoilers For Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Red Hood #2!
While Batman and Joker have had an intense relationship over the years, the hatred Red Hood has for Joker makes Batman's feelings about the Clown look tame. This is why it's all the more surprising that in Red Hood's time of need, it's not Batman who comes to save him, but the Joker. Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Red Hood #2 – by Matthew Rosenberg, and Nikola Cizmesija – finds Jason Todd's life in peril, with the most unexpected savior coming to his aid: the Joker.
When word of Red Hood being kidnapped reaches Joker, he swears to save Red Hood, stopping Red Hood from being killed by the Scarecrow, battling the villain to save Jason's life from a situation Batman put Jason in.Recently the Joker has been at war with another Joker for the fate of Gotham City. While readers have yet to see the final reveal of exactly who the real Joker is, what's clear is that the war between these two Clown Princes will put everyone in Gotham in danger.
Joker doesn't seem interested in killing Jason a second time, treating him as mostly an obstacle to be avoided, much to Jason's annoyance. This seems to have changed, though, with whatever plan Joker has requiring Red Hood, which means in a bizarre twist Joker is going to have to save Red Hood from villains like Scarecrow – as well as heroes like Batman.
