Jon Newsome has eulogised Georginio Rutter for knuckling down at Leeds United this season. The Frenchman was thrown in the deep end when he arrived at Elland Road in January.
Rutter started just one league game as the club hurtled towards relegation and, astonishingly, had not completed a full 90 minutes in Leeds colours until this campaign. “I have said it before, he’s not put the price tag on his head,” he said. “He was out of his depth last year. He came in as a young lad, into a completely different environment, a different way of life, away from home in a struggling side in the Premier League.
