We talk about body shaming, body positivity and what the female gender encounters in that realm. I think in the male side that is not talked about quite as much, and I know I was severely impacted by that my whole life. Eating disorders, weird relationship with food, for sure. But I think what really has changed the most is that I'm aware of the unrealistic beauty expectations that are forced down their throats, and that they always have been, and have narrower ideas of what beauty are.
Don't throw stones I think is another thing. It's kind of like white privilege. If you're seeing your white counterparts engage in white privilege behind closed doors and engaging in racism, it's your job as a white person to use your white privilege to let them know why that's so fucked up.I think that it's really important for everyone.
Three years ago if I would've had an extra bedroom for you to stay in, which is hilarious because I wouldn't have, but if I would have had an extra bedroom, I would have of course would have welcomed these people into my home. Now, that's not the case.I know. I'm feeling the same way about certain people. In certain cases it's sort of like-I mean, I'll still be your friend, but those people, I actually don't do that. I do talk to those people.
Also in my twenties, I feel like I had that as well where it was like I worked all the time and I was a small business owner, trying to build a clientele in whatever city I was living in. If it got to be a Friday or Saturday night and no one wanted to go out, I was like, "Well I'm finally old enough to go out. Why don't I have plans for weeks at a time.
