'Today out in the fresh air was what we all needed' ❤️
A Place In The Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin has shared a glimpse inside his family staycation in the Lake District amid his terminal cancer battle.
The dad had no idea he'd been living with lung cancer. The tumours had grown, without symptoms, and spread through his body to the lymph nodes until they were pressing against his brain. The TV star said he was initially given a "wonder drug" after being told he had six months to live, but sadly the cancer has "come back so come back so violently, it's even surprised the doctors".
He wrote: "Today out in the fresh air was what we all needed. How I’d love to be up on those fells but staying low around the waterfalls with the family was wonderful in a different way."
