The Irishman played over 350 games for the Dons over two spells as he gets set for the next chapter of his football career.
Jonny Hayes has sent an emotional farewell to Aberdeen as he highlighted one thing in particular that made him 'extremely proud' while at Pittodrie.
Hayes admits it is 'always tough' to let go of something you enjoy while he has made lifelong friends on and off the pitch at the club. He's also sent a thank you to every single fan who showed their backing over his time at the club and wished everyone associated with Aberdeen all the best going forward.
"Myself and my family have always felt extremely welcome in the north east over the course of nearly a decade so I want to thank every single person that has made us feel that way. I’ll never forget how people at AFC, at Westdyke and at the school helped the kids settle when we moved back here. Playing in the first team whilst my son plays in the academy is something I’m extremely proud of, and one of the many reasons I’ll always be a supporter of the club at every age group.
