Up to 1,000 athletes are set to head Joss Naylor's cortege after running into Wasdale Head.
Up to 1,000 fell runners will form a guard of honour at the funeral of a record-breaking veteran athlete on Friday.
They are then set to walk in front of the cortege to "lead Joss home", with the service being held at St Olaf's Church. Headed by a local teenage cornet player, those in the funeral procession will sing Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - amended slightly to include references to Wasdale.Once the service is under way at 13:00 BST, a loudspeaker will relay proceedings to well-wishers outside England's smallest parish church.
