The Juggernaut may be unstoppable, but the recurring X-Men foe has one secret weakness that Thor tries to manipulate during an epic showdown.
The Juggernaut has proven time and again that he can be unstoppable against even the strongest Marvel heroes and villains, but Thor discovered one loophole to Cain Marko's powers that he was able to exploit. The Mighty Thor is no stranger to dealing with magic-based threats, from his own adopted brother Loki to the occasional romantic foil Amora the Enchantress. However, when Thor faces the Juggernaut, the Asgardian God of Thunder has a battle on his hands unlike any other.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz's Mighty Thor #429, entitled "This World is Mine," sees yet another monumental fight between the Unstoppable Juggernaut and Thor . Allied with the citizens of a distant alien planet, Juggernaut finds himself up against not only the likes of Thor but the UK-based superhero team known as Excalibur.
Juggernaut's Unstoppable Powers Can Be Neutralized Juggernaut proves such a threat due to Marko's association with the magical deity Cyttorak. Cyttorak hails from a dimension known as the Crimson Cosmos and uses hosts like Cain to channel its insurmountable influence and power. Cyttorak's armor provides Juggernaut with powers such as increased strength and stamina as well as eliminating his need to eat, sleep, or breathe, which extends beyond even the armor itself.
Prior to Mighty Thor #429, the limit to Juggernaut's magical connection to Cyttorak was not explicitly given for the heroes to exploit. In most of his fights with the X-Men, it generally came down to removing Cain's helmet, leaving the Juggernaut open to telepathic attacks. With Thor's association to magic, Juggernaut finally finds himself in a harrowing situation.
Cain's original iteration of the Juggernaut is not quite on the same level of cosmic-based villains Galactus or Thanos but there is a reason that he has continued to menace Thor every few decades. The Juggernaut's mystical abilities are a natural foil for Thor, but as long as the God of Thunder has his trusty hammer Mjolnir, he will always be able to conquer the villain.
