Jurgen Klopp believes his Liverpool team have "a chance to create their own destiny" in the coming years, saying he feels totally refreshed by the new-look nature of the squad.
The Reds boss admitted the need to significantly change the playing staff and the mood around the club was imperative and likened it to his time at Borussia Dortmund, which ended after seven years in 2015. "So I left and they changed a lot anyway. It was a moment for that. It is not the first time I was allowed to do something like that. I love it. It gives me completely new energy, it's great, this team has a completely new set up.
The comments come after it was announced that New York-based Dynasty Equity would be taking a minority stake in the club from owners Fenway Sports Group for somewhere between £80m and £160m earlier this week. "The Premier League, with all the other competitions in, is a long distance run and you never know how you get through all of this. A good start is much better than a bad one though, definitely, and we see that we are happy about it, but we have to make sure we don’t stand here in 10 days and speak about three super difficult games when we couldn’t deliver.
