Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been appointed as head of global soccer by Red Bull after signing a long-term deal. Klopp will share his expertise with various clubs under the Red Bull umbrella, including Leeds United, where he could offer guidance to manager Daniel Farke.
Red Bull 's decision to appoint former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp caused quite the stir back in Germany. The former Reds boss is set to take on the role as head of global soccer after signing a long-term deal with the organisation.
Red Bull are minority shareholders at Leeds United and although Klopp's exact remit are unknown, reports in Germany claim the Premier League and Champions League winning boss will share his expertise with Daniel Farke. That's according to to BILD, who say his role will be a ‘strategist, analyst and advisor’ when it comes to ‘transfers, coaches and development’ of the clubs under the Red Bull umbrella.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler also expects Klopp to have an influence at Elland Road, offering his support to Farke. Writing in today's Sunday Mirror, the former Reds striker said: “What are the chances of seeing Jurgen passing on some advice to Daniel Farke up at Thorp Arch anytime soon?”
