A jury has found a 37-year-old Santa Cruz County man who permanently disfigured another with a gunshot wound to his genitals in November guilty on several charges.
Tilden Jordan Ball kidnapped a Boulder Creek man at gunpoint on the night of Nov. 7 to a rural field. Ball then spent the night assaulting his victim physically and psychologically — including telling the man that the field was where he would be killed and buried, according to a media release from the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office.after residents reported shots fired in the area around 7 p.m. that night, according to initial police reports.
“The motive for the crime was an allegation that the night before, the victim had sexually assaulted a person with whom Mr. Ball had a close relationship with,” according to the District Attorney’s Office.
