SAN DIEGO – Former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett has been sentenced to five months behind bars and has to pay a $25,000 fine and $120,000 in restitution for orchestrating a hate crime hoax.Weigul, Founder and President of WMG Communications, joined KUSI’s Ginger Jeffries on “Good Evening San Diego” to discuss Smollett’s sentence.
“Smollett is even now getting the star treatment,” Weigul described. “He is in protective custody at the largest, most overcrowded jail in the entire country. He has his own cell. He is under constant surveillance by a police officer at all times wearing a body camera,” Weigul added.
