BREAKING -- Justice Department believes Trump still hasn't returned all documents: Report
Jay Bratt, the head of the Justice Department's counterintelligence section, reached out to Trump's lawyers to convey the message in recent weeks, according to a report from the New York Times published on Thursday. The report cited people briefed on the matter.Trump's lawyers were divided on how to respond to the outreach from the Justice Department, with some wanting to be cooperative and others wanting to be more combative, per the report.
The message from the Justice Department was reported the same day an accidental posting on a public docket offered more details of documents seized by the FBI during the August raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. Some of the details include documents labeled to return to Trump, including a"medical letter" and some of Trump's legal documents.
Unsealed court filings revealed that Trump is being investigated under the Espionage Act, as well as related to laws regarding obstruction of justice. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
